The sampler incorporates traditional motifs and borders as well as a number of small panels illustrating different Blackwork filling patterns.

The finished sampler can be personalised with your own initials and year.

Worked solely in black stranded cotton, the finished piece is simply stunning.

Skill rating:
Although best suited to an embroiderer with some skill and experience, anyone with an good eye for detail and accuracy could take up the challenge of this piece.

Size:
On 28 count fabric (over two threads) the stitched area measures 12.6" x 16.1" (32cm x 41cm).

Stitches used:
Cross stitch, backstitch, French knots.
Please note: design requires a substantial amount of backstitching.

We recommend working this on an evenweave or linen fabric.
